Winter Beach Maternity Session at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock
There’s something truly magical about the beach in winter — the soft, golden light, the stillness of the waves, and the way the breeze carries just a little more meaning. Bree and Dion’s maternity session at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock was one of those afternoons that reminded me just how powerful and emotional this season of life is.

As a photographer who grew up by the ocean (shoutout to the countless shark fishing trips and salty hair days), I’ve always felt deeply connected to the coast. But after spending the past 10 years living in the Yarra Valley & Victorian High Country, sessions like this one truly make me pause and soak it all in.
This was Bree and Dion’s first pregnancy, and the calmness between them was beautiful. We explored the rocky textures, the golden cliffs, and the quiet edges of the beach as the sun melted into the sea. Bree wore two of my newest client wardrobe gowns — both earthy, ethereal, and made to flow with the wind. She looked absolutely stunning.

If you’re a little camera-shy, I always recommend weekday sunset sessions. It’s less busy (Half Moon Bay is a popular spot for photographers!) and gives us the space to create without distraction.
