Your Newborn Photographer in the Yarra Valley, Mansfield, Seymour & North East Victoria.

your little one is here -

Those first few weeks with your baby pass in a beautiful blur of sleepy cuddles, tiny stretches, and getting to know the newest member of your family. My newborn sessions are designed to gently preserve this season, creating timeless images that allow you to revisit not only what your baby looked like, but how it felt to hold them close.

I take a relaxed, loving, and baby-led approach to newborn photography, capturing genuine connection and all the little details you'll never want to forget. Sessions take place in my cozy Buxton studio, conveniently located for families travelling from across the Yarra Valley, Mansfield, Seymour, Alexandra, Marysville, the Murrindindi Shire, and throughout North East Victoria.

Whether you're celebrating your very first baby or welcoming another little love into your family, my goal is to create a calm and comfortable experience where you can simply slow down and soak in these precious early days.

When Should You Book Your Newborn Session?

If you're searching for newborn photography in the Yarra Valley, Mansfield, Seymour, or North East Victoria, the best time to secure your session is during pregnancy is at the beginning of your second trimester.

Because babies arrive in their own time, your newborn session is reserved around your estimated due date rather than a fixed appointment. Once your little one makes their arrival, we'll confirm the perfect date together.

Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first few weeks of earth-side, when babies tend to be sleepier and naturally curl into those beautiful newborn poses. However, if your baby has already arrived, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Gorgeous newborn images can still be created beyond those first few weeks, and I'd love to help you document this special chapter of your family's story.

Your newborn session includes so much more than portraits of your baby. Along with individual newborn images, you're warmly encouraged to step in front of the camera too. Parent, sibling, and family photographs are all included, allowing us to document the love, connection, and joy of welcoming your newest little addition.

When I became a mum, I thought I’d be able to capture all those precious first moments myself. I had every intention of taking all the photos, after all, I’m a photographer! But when my little one arrived, I quickly realized how fast time flies, and how much I was just living in those moments. Before I knew it, I’d missed out on getting those perfect, timeless newborn photos I had imagined.

That’s why I understand the value of having a professional capture these early days for you. I take a relaxed and patient approach to every session, making sure that you and your baby feel comfortable throughout the experience.  I’ll guide you gently, capturing every tiny detail, from your baby’s little fingers and toes to the quiet moments you’ll never want to forget.

Trust me, I’ve been there, and I know how easy it is to let time slip by. That’s why I’m here to make sure you don’t miss out on preserving these priceless memories.

Welcome to the home studio – Your Calm Little Corner in Buxton

Stepping into the studio feels like arriving at a calm, sunlit pause from the outside world. Now located at my home studio in Buxton, the space is intentionally simple, warm and welcoming, designed to feel relaxed rather than formal.

Soft natural light fills the room, creating a beautiful, flattering glow that’s perfect for timeless newborn imagery. The studio is styled in neutral tones with earthy textures and minimal details, allowing your baby and those early connections, to remain the heart of every image. There’s plenty of space for feeding, cuddling, changing, and taking breaks whenever needed. Sessions are always baby-led, with no pressure and no rush.

Because the studio is set on our property, there’s a gentle country feel woven into the experience. After your session (or if older siblings need a little reset), there’s the joy of saying hello to our friendly sheep and goats, which often brings smiles and a sense of calm to the day.

Buxton itself is quiet and peaceful, perfect for those early postpartum days and if you feel up to it, the nearby town of Marysville makes a lovely stop afterwards for a warm meal or good coffee before heading home.

FAQ

When do I book?

It’s best to book your newborn photography session while you're still pregnant, ideally around the second trimester. This ensures you get your spot reserved, as I only take a limited number of sessions each month.

The ideal time for the newborn session itself is within the first two weeks of your baby’s life. This is when they’re still super sleepy and flexible, allowing for those sweet, curled-up poses that make newborn photos so special.

There is always wriggle room if baby decides to come early or late.

Who is involved?

Partners and children. Please let me know if you plan on inviting grandparents along.

Studio or In Home?

For your newborn session, you have the option of either Buxton studio session or an in-home session, depending on your preference.

  • Studio Session: If you prefer a quiet, controlled environment, my cozy studio is fully equipped with everything we need to create beautiful, timeless newborn portraits. It’s a calm, peaceful space designed to make your little one feel comfortable and relaxed.
  • In-Home Session: If you’d rather stay at home and capture those intimate, family moments, I can come to you. In-home sessions are perfect for creating a more personal and natural feel, with the comfort of your own space. We can incorporate the details of your home and family into the photos, making them even more meaningful. All home sessions incur a $200.00 travel fee.

No matter which option you choose, I’ll ensure everything goes smoothly, keeping your baby’s comfort as the top priority.

How long is the session?

My typical newborn session usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. This gives us plenty of time to capture a variety of shots while also allowing breaks for feeding, soothing, and diaper changes—because, let's face it, babies run on their own schedule! The relaxed pace ensures your little one stays calm and comfortable throughout the session, and gives us the flexibility to get those perfect moments.

How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?

Typically, you can expect to receive 10 sneak peek images in the next 48 hours. Expect the remainder of the full edited gallery within 3-4 weeks after the session. This gives me time to carefully select and edit each image, ensuring they’re polished and perfect.

How do I prepare for the session?

During the booking process, I will email you through my session guide that will help you prepare for your newborn session in both studio & in-home. Props, blankets and newborn outfits are supplied.
